Slow Weekend

Cleaned up some funk on the pan head this weekend. I got the barrels all cleaned and painted along with the lifter blocks now I'm just waiting on the gasket kit and some new rings and my hillbilly top end job will done...

My boy came out and lent me a hand

The wife even made some little smokey's for us, garage style

This bead blast cabinet has saved me so much time.

Work, work, work...

So after the carb cleanup I fired the Pan up got her all warm and gave the throttle a little bump and what do you know the rear pipe was smoking with that good old blue hue. The rear head had to come off for inspection. What do you know my worst fear came true. The head wouldn't come off it needed a little more clearance between the rocker box and frame. Out with the engine and on with a top end job....

borrowed a lift from my dad

lots of room, yeah right

now this is depressing, #2 without a engine at the same time

Playing catch up

Finally got some time to work on the Pan. It was acting like it was starving for gas and it had got really hot. I figured part of the problem was 30 year old O-rings on the intake manifold and by the looks of them I was part right. Pulled the float bowl off the old Linkert just to make sure there was no crap in it. now I just have to go back outside and put it back together.

Finally Rain

maybe I should go out an start fixing all of the chit that broke down over the long Indian summer we had.

Enjoying the day

The Easyryder show was in Sacramento this weekend and looking at the pictures on Facebook I'm glad I didn't go. I guess I am just not into all the gaudy paint and over designed chrome bits. I did however want to Sacramento today for the swap meet. I left around 11 and got there by 12:45 just in time to watch the last of the sellers pack up their trucks and drive off. It was probably a good thing any way, I only had enough cash for lunch. I did have a great ride up and down the river road with good company, a little cold and windy but hell its January and we are still riding every weekend.

Vintage goodness

Dust up

What can I say. That was one of those parties that will be talked about for years to come. People came from all around all with the right attitude. The Sacramento crew even collected a stray in Winters, dude rolled in on a geney shovel, busted out his mouth harp and jumped in with the first band. Some of the boys did a little dirt tracking on the hill  before the sun went down, no pic's of that The second band had killed it and there was a monstrous fire pit to keep every one warm all night.
It's all still soaking in. I took some pictures, shot a short video of the second band and had a awesome time and got home safe. Thanks to Shane and Marc putting this thing on.

Vintage

My dads old 50, wish we still had this one.
Grew up on the back of this one

This weekend

I finally made up my mind to blast up to the Hall ranch for a good old fashion party. Why not, it's January, it's dry, it'll be fucking cold at night but the sun will be out and it's California.

New year...

same old routine. I drove to Mantica today for a deal on a fender. After a three hour drive I don't know with the price of gas how good of a deal I got, but I got it. One more step closer on my Knuck. I have to finish the tanks oh yeah and tear down the engine, fuck I have a lot of work to do.
