Cut, Bend, Grind

I know Footboards aren't cool but neither am I. The mid pegs where way too high for me so off with them and on to a little more leg room. Of course nothing is simple. Stock footboard  mounts wouldn't work due to improper placement of the frame tabs so I had to go at it myself. I picked up some square stock and fired up the lathe. A little turning, some bending, cutting and there you have it. Custom and comfy.

A little obvious math...

Should have pulled the jugs before I ordered the new slugs something just didn't look right. After a little measuring and checking I think what we have here is a 88" Panhead

Knock, Knock

Found the knock in the new Pan. I figured on putting new pistons in after we got the top end apart but a broken skirt was a surprise. Damn shame too it had forged S&S pistons in it, I'm way too cheep to put those back in. I got a set of cast drag 8.5:1 slugs for it.

O.C.M.D.

A little tinkering in the garage this weekend. The heads are all refreshed with a good old hillbilly rebuild. I have still have to pop the jugs and hone the cylinders but that's for next week...

What do you do with a new bike?

Take it apart to see how it ticks. Well at least see what is causing all the oil to come out at the base of the heads by the exhaust flanges.
