Sporty Project

So I went to SF and picked up this little SportyWednesday. It had been in a low speed fuck up and had a couple of things bent or broken. The majority of the damage was on the parts due to come off any way. I started in on it last night removing the bent or broken bits and fitting up the new tank and bars. Today was front end stuff, new fork seals and clean up the top triple tree.

Oh those San Francisco freeway's

It looks way worse than it is

On the operating table

The new tank, it's bigger and will look way better.

sanded, polished and back on.

Progress

I spent a little time getting the foot board tabs on the Knuck this week. There was an issue with the mounts not lining up, I had some mount studs but half were for a 45 and it turns out they are way too different so I got a Colony set off of ebay and everything fell in place. Now it's back off to the side while I fix a Sportie for a friend, more on that later...

When you paint your frame with Krylon all it takes to strip it
is a can of brake clean and a rag.

Just look at those vintage foot boards

This is what it's all about

Having my kids out here in the shop makes the whole thing worth it. I can remember jumping on my dad's Knuck when it was on the stand and pretending to ride it.

Test fit

looks like the fender and seat fit I just have to get the tanks together.

Not sure about the P-pad but the wife wanted to know where
she was going to ride and the fender was already drilled for it

Oh and I made this for a friend and his woman, just in time for their baby shower

Busy Friday...

in the old garage. We tinkered with a friends 68, another showed up to help and had a project of his own. He needed some machining done to make a bearing tool and more people kept showing up. It turned out to be quite the little gathering of bikes in front of the old house. I got all of the emptys put in the recycle and the floor swept. Tomorrow the dude is showing up to take my old 65 F100 and the wife and I are heading to a friends baby shower. present in tow for the little tyke.
